Reservation and Renovation of Historic Cultural Districts -Invitation to 2012 Beijing Studies International Symposium (No.1)
In order to promote the international comparative studies, as well as to share the actual operational experiences on the reservation and renovation of historic cultural districts, Institute of Beijing Studies of Beijing Union University(BUU), College of Arts & Sciences of Beijing Union University (CASBUU), Culture Regeneration Research Society (CRRS) of Canada, and Douglas College (DC) of Canada, jointly host the 2012 Beijing Studies International Symposium on November19 – 21 in Beijing, China. The host organizations sincerely invite international experts and professionals who are interested and involved in the field to submit papers and proposals. Papers: Related to the theme, such as: theoretical researches, experimental practices, strategies and recommendations in the fields of history, value, cultural impacts, reservation strategies & measures, renovation plans, methods & measures, international comparative studies, practical experience sharing, etc. All papers will be compiled and printed before the conference and selected papers will be published officially after the conference.
Requirements: Submit paper in English or Chinese to the conference by October 15, 2012. Chinese paper should be within 5000 – 6000 words; English papers 3000 – 4000 words. Title (both English and Chinese), Abstract (200 – 300 words), and keywords (3- 5 ), author’s bio either in Chinese or English (50 words, including name, birthday, gender, nationality, degree, position, employer, and major research areas, etc.) Notes and bibliography should be in details including pages referenced. Notes should be in the format of Footnotes; references should be listed at the end of the paper. Cost: Conference registration, meals, accommodations during the conference, publication of papers are covered by Institute of Beijing Studies. Transportation, flights, etc. are not covered and should be paid by participants.
